Goshen Groceries

"I'll give you a place to live in Goshen where you'll be close to me—you, your children, your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and anything else you can think of. I'll take care of you there completely… I'll make sure all your needs are taken care of, you and everyone connected with you—you won't want for a thing."
Genesis 45:9-11
The Message

It all began one Sunday morning...
While Eddie and his wife Linda were listening to a message in church, Eddie heard the preacher say, "There will need to be a city of refuge..." As those words soaked in, Eddie realized, 'a city of refuge needs food.' And so, Goshen Groceries was born, a storehouse of affordable food and health products. Of course, it wasn't long before Eddie and Linda began to give  food to needy families, which led to preparing meals. To date, more than 6,400 plates of hot meals have been served- at no charge!

When I asked Linda about her menus, she said, "Me and Eddie pray, God provides the food, and I cook what He provides." This past year God has provided:

chicken, ribs, beef, potatoes, beans, rice,
pasta, vegetables, polish sausage...

On any given serving day (Tuesday-Friday at 12:30) you might enjoy Rice Crispy Chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls, or, Red Beans and Rice with cornbread- always accompanied with homemade dessert (the kind of meals Grandma made, if you grew up in the South).

"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited Me in..."
Matthew 25:35

It is easy to tell someone, "I will pray for you." It is more challenging to tell someone, "I will feed you." It is a thing of beauty when you do both. Eddie and Linda Armstrong are putting feet to faith and hands to hope, serving the love of Christ to hungry souls.
