pieces of memory

From where do memories come?

One just passed by:

...it was last Summer, a light rain was falling. Down the sidewalk she came, a little girl walking slowly, catching raindrops with her tongue. Mercy drops. I smile at the memory as I did at the seeing of that simple act of childlikeness.

The beauty of a child is this-

The child has not yet learned the art of pretense.

Being childlike marries heaven and earth, making a wonder-filled human.

We grownups, floundering in a sea of concentric circumstances, would do well to walk slowly in the rain and catch mercy drops with our tongues.
